<h2></h2><br><p><p><h3>ESTATE</h3><br>
<b>The Domaine Belland, established in 1839, is situated in the heart of the village of Santenay, 15 kilometres from Beaune. Its vast vineyard area extends over 23 hectares in the Côte de Beaune district, and is planted exclusively with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.
This large domaine is composed of a remarkable collection of Premiers Crus and Grands Crus: Maranges, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay, plus a superb parcel of Criots-Batard-Montrachet as well as some Santenay Villages and Pommard “Les Cras.” It is also the sole owner of the Clos Pitois in Chassagne-Montrachet.
The domaine is totally dedicated to the policy of producing top quality wines.
<br>
<h3>VINE GROWERS</h3><br>
<b>Roger Belland is the fifth member of the family to run the Domaine Belland. He belongs to the new generation of growers in the commune whose enthusiasm and perfectionism have raised the quality of the wines produced.<br>
<h3>WINE MAKING</h3><br>
<b>As soon as spring arrives, the main vine branches are selected to obtain the number of grapes best adapted to each plant. Thanks to this practice, green harvests do not have to be carried out later on.
The vineyard soils are sown with green cover crops to encourage microbial life in the soil, reduce the use of chemical products, respect the typicity of each terroir and regulate yields naturally.
Harvesting and rigorous sorting are done by hand. The grapes benefit from a slow maceration in the family winery. The modern vinification unit (one of the best-equipped in Burgundy) allows the cold maceration phases and fermentation temperatures to be perfectly controlled. The wines are matured exclusively in oak barrels for at least eighteen months. After tranquilly ageing in the cellars, the wines are bottled on the domaine.
